Poky Police Gather 372 Pounds of Rx Drugs

(POCATELLO) – Pocatello police have gathered 372 pounds of expired or unused prescription drugs since January 1. Authorities tell Local News 8 that this past weekend’s “drug take back” event brought in 43 pounds alone. They say the proper disposal of prescription drugs helps keep potentially harmful substances out of waterways and landfills. The drugs will be taken to Utah and incinerated through a program sponsored by the DEA. Officials say residents can drop off old medications at the police department each day during business hours.
