Rangers Defeat Capitals In Game 7, 2-1

Scott Levy/NHLI via Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist stopped 22 of 23 shots he faced as The New York Rangers skated past the Washington Capitals in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference Semi-Final series, 2-1.

New York jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on Brad Richards’ goal, 1:32 into the first period. The Rangers extended their lead in the third when Michael Del Zotto scored, 10:05 into the period.

The Capitals lone goal came moments later, when Roman Hamrlik scored at 10:43.

The Rangers will take on their cross Hudson rivals, the New Jersey Devils in the Eastern Conference Finals beginning Monday.
