Ron Paul Condemns Backers Staging Coup

(BOISE) – GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul is discouraging his Idaho backers from attempting a hostile takeover at the state’s Republican convention. Political organizer Ryan Davidson had a plan that called for Paul supporters to vote for libertarians during next Tuesday’s precinct committee elections, then stage a coup at the Idaho GOP convention by awarding all of winner Mitt Romney’s delegates to Paul. Paul’s campaign is speaking out against similar takeovers in Maine and Nevada as “vengeful, underhanded, and markedly distasteful.” Davidson has declined to comment.
