(NEW YORK) — Jim Parsons has officially come out of the closet in a New York Times profile of The Big Bang Theory star.
The Emmy-winning actor, who plays Sheldon on the CBS comedy, isn’t actually quoted discussing his sexual preference in the article. Instead, the author casually mentions it in reference to Parsons’ performance last year in a Broadway production of The Normal Heart, about gay men dying of AIDS.
The author writes, “The Normal Heart resonated with him on a few levels: Mr. Parsons is gay and in a 10-year relationship, and working with an ensemble again onstage was like nourishment, he said.”
Parsons returns to Broadway this summer in another revival, Harvey, a play made famous by Jimmy Stewart.
