(BLACKFOOT, ID)  —  A 30-year-old man is in custody after threatening to shoot his wife, three children and himself Wednesday night.  Following a standoff at his home, Jeremy Andrus of Blackfoot led police on a high speed chase into Fort Hall. Police used spike strips to stop the car at the intersection of Reservation Road and Highway 91. Andrus continued driving on the rims until the car caught fire. He then then got out of the car and put the gun to his head, threatening to kill himself before being subdued. An investigation is ongoing.

(LAVA HOT SPRINGS)  — A fugitive was captured and extradited back to Utah after a standoff in Lava Hot Springs Wednesday.  Jason Wieberg was on parole for a bank robbery and aggravated assault when he led Utah police on a high speed chase into Idaho. Police contacted the suspect’s brother, Jared Wieberg in Lava Hot Springs, where they also found Jason. Though both initially refused to cooperate, police took both men into custody. Jared Wieberg is in the Bannock County jail facing felony charges for harboring a fugitive.
