A lone walk issued to Josh Willingham in the top of the seventh is all that separated Weaver from joining the White Sox Philip Humber as the only pitchers to throw perfect games this season.

“Guys were picking me up left and right,” Weaver said addressing the crowd on Fox Sports West. “Scored some runs early…took some pressure off me. I was able to throw some strikes, and (Chris) Iannetta throwing down the right fingers, got to love that.”

It’s the second Angels’ no-hitter in as many seasons. Ervin Santana threw one for the Angels on July 27th of last year against the Cleveland Indians.
