Wyo. Officials Urge Whooping Cough Vaccinations
(CHEYENNE, Wyo.) – The state of Wyoming is urging people who spend time around babies to get vaccinated for whooping cough. A Pocatello infant recently died of pertussis, and outbreaks have already impacted thousands in Montana and Washington. Wyoming has only 10 reported cases this year, and health officials fear that the number could exceed the previous two years’ cases if left untreated. Idaho and Wyoming both rank consistently lower than the national average rates for immunizations.
