$60M to be Split Among Tribal Members

(FORT HALL) – The Shoshone-Bannock tribes have announced what they plan to do with a $60 million federal settlement. The funds will be split up among 5,700 tribal members, amounting to about $10,000 per person. Officials tell KIDK that the money will be a significant help for those struggling financially. Others say the money would have been better spent on paying off tribal debts and improving infrastructure. There is no time frame as to when the funds will be distributed.
