Boy Scouts Reconsider Gay Ban
Published at(POCATELLO) – The Boy Scouts of America has announced that their ban on openly gay leaders will remain in effect, though they are considering a resolution that will allow local units to determine their own standards. Several progressive factions within the scouting movement have called the current policy “outdated” and “discriminatory.” More than 21,000 scouts and leaders make up the local Grand Teton Council, which has had clashed with some gay rights groups. The BSA Executive Board will likely review any recommendations by May 2013.
