(NINGDE, China) — Seventeen people were killed and three were seriously injured when a long-distance bus plunged into a deep ravine Wednesday morning.
China’s Xinhua News Agency reported 45 people were on the bus, which was headed from eastern Jiangsu province to the coastal city of Xiamen in Fujian province, when it overturned in Fujian’s Ningde city.
Roads in China are notoriously dangerous. Back in February, 15 people were killed when a bus crashed into a ravine in northern Shanxi province.
