According to a series of tweets that have since been deleted, the fight began at the W.i.P. club in lower Manhattan where Chris, and Drake along with Wale, Trey Songz and Meek Mill, were celebrating Teyana Taylor’s signing to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label. When Chris sent a bottle of champagne to Drizzy as a peace offering, Drake returned the favor with a note saying, “I’m f****** the love of your life, deal with it.” According to several media reports, Drake approached Chris’ table starting the brawl. A member of Drake’s camp supposedly threw a bottle at Chris and hid behind security guards. Tweeted pictures showed damage to several tables, bottles and mirrors inside the club; and Chris later tweeted and deleted a picture of himself with a gash on his chin, as well as the message, “Ok! N****s stand behind security!!!! Ok! U don’t pay them enough!”

New York City Police did not confirm the identities of the people involved in the melee, but an NYPD spokesman confirmed to ABC News that police responded to a 911 call at 4 a.m. on Tuesday regarding disorderly conduct at the W.i.P. club. When police arrived they encountered a large group congregating outside the club. One man and four women had sustained what the spokesman called non-life threatening injuries. No charges were filed and the investigation is ongoing.

A rep for Drake denied that he was involved in the altercation, issuing the following statement: “Drake did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night at W.i.P. He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began. He did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property.”

A rep for Chris said that he and girlfriend Karrueche Tran were cooperating with authorities.  In a statement the rep said, “Chris, Karrueche and his friends were victims of a brutal attack last night at WIP.  They sustained several injuries.  Chris and his party are cooperating with NY authorities who are pursuing this incident further.”
