(ARLINGTON, Va.) — Defenseman Dennis Wideman was traded from the Washington Capitals to the Calgary Flames for minor league defenseman Jordan Henry and a fifth round pick in the 2013 draft.
After trading, the Flames signed him to a five-year contract worth $5.25 million annually.
The 29-year-old defenseman is joining his fifth NHL team. He has averaged 40 points a season for the past five seasons.
