It was New Jersey’s rookie Adam Henrique who was the game 4 hero that gave the Devils a 2-1 lead in the third period.  Ilya Kovalchuk would go on to add an empty net goal and give the Devils at least one more game in the Stanley Cup finals.

Kings still lead the series 3-1.

“This is where every kid dreams of playing one day, we know it’s going to be a tough task to come back,” said Henrique.  “We take it one game at a time, there is no quit in the group in here we know we can put four together and come back.”

Martin Brodeur had 21 saves for New Jersey.

“You know, I think we wanted to make them jump on a plane and come to New Jersey,” Brodeur said. “We had to go anyway. Might as well get a game over there.”

Drew Doughty scored the only goal for the Kings in the third period on the power play.

“It’s definitely disappointing, the fans were great, they were loud, just to close it here would have been fantastic,” said Doughty.  “It’s in the past now, we didn’t do it, and we’ve got to close it out next game.”

Game 5 will be on Saturday night.
