Farm Bill Will Cut Direct Payments
Published at(BOISE, ID) — A new U.S. Senate bill will direct payments to farmers, and will reduce how much they can spend. Several economists say a cut in federal spending is necessary, however, they question whether cutting farm subsidies will help in the long run. Sen. Mike Crapo was one of 35 senators who voted against the bill last week. The measure now heads to the House for deliberation.
