Gene Simmons’ Daughter Auditions for “The X Factor”

Gregg DeGuire/PictureGroup(LOS ANGELES) — Sophie Simmons, daughter of KISS frontman Gene Simmons, has auditioned for the upcoming season of The X Factor, according to TMZ sources.
The 19-year-old told judges at the San Francisco auditions that she wanted a “fair shot” and insisted, “This isn’t about my dad. This is about my audition.”
Simmons’ rock-star dad was on hand to lend his support — but almost didn’t make it. TMZ sources say Gene received a surprise call from Sophie, saying that she couldn’t come home for Father’s Day as she was going to be busy with the talent contest.
But father and daughter spent at least some of the day together, after Gene flew by private jet in time to see Sophie try out in front of Simon Cowell, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and L.A. Reid. No word yet on whether she passed her audition.
