Giants Keeping Lincecum In Rotation Despite Struggles

Sarah Glenn/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Tim Lincecum has quite the resume, including two Cy Young Awards and a World Series championship. Although he's struggled mightily this season, the team won't be taking him out of the starting rotation.

After Lincecum's latest loss on Saturday, in which he gave up five earned runs, his ERA ballooned to 6.19. Overall he's just 2-8 on the season, and hasn't won since late April. Up until this season, Lincecum's ERA had never been higher than 4.00, and that was during his rookie year back in 2007.

"He's healthy, He feels good," Giants manager Bruce Bochy told CSNBayArea.com's Andrew Baggarly. "I know the results haven't been great for Timmy, but you just see too many good signs. Even after the first inning (Saturday), he had bad luck there."

"At this point we think the best thing is to let him fight through this. If we felt different, we'd do it."

Lincecum has allowed at least four runs in 10 of his 14 starts this season.
