Hill becomes only the fourth player in Major League Baseball history to hit for two cycles in a season. The last player to hit for two cycles in less than two weeks was Tip O’Neill (St. Louis Browns) back in 1887, and the last time a player hit two cycles in a season was in 1931, when Babe Herman did it for the Brooklyn Robins. John Reilly also accomplished the feat back in 1883.

Hill didn’t waste any time making history. He got all four hits in his first four at bats finishing with a triple in the sixth inning off Livan Hernandez.

I was able to backspin the ball,” Hill said to Fox Sports Arizona when talking about the triple. “I saw it in the gap (the ball). There’s big gaps out there so you just try to do as much as you can and keep hustling.”

If Hill hits for another cycle this year he will be the first in MLB history to hit for three in one season.
