Hornets’ Introduce Anthony Davis and Austin Rivers

Chris Graythen/Getty Images(NEW ORLEANS, La.) — The Anthony Davis era in New Orleans has officially started. The Hornets introduced the first overall pick in last night’s NBA draft and their 10th pick Austin Rivers on Friday.
Davis will become the face of the franchise after the Hornets shipped Chris Paul to the Clippers last season.
“It’s a great opportunity for both of us,” said Davis. “Can’t wait to get started, get in the gym, start working real hard.”
Rivers believes that this team has what it takes to compete real soon.
“Very excited to be here, play in New Orleans,” said Rivers. “This team is definitely on the rise, we have pieces here, and we’re going to keep getting better.”
In order to have success, it will all come down to head coach Monty Williams and his plan with the young talent moving forward.
“Anthony (Davis) and I have had unbelievable talks about the future and about life,” said Williams. “I just feel privileged to be in this position and very thankful. We’ve got a lot of work to do but we’re going to do it.”
