INL Wins Award for Tech Innovation

(IDAHO FALLS) – The Idaho National Laboratory has a little something to be proud of this week. The site is being honored by R&D Magazine for solving one of the biggest technological challenges in recent history. An INL team developed an algorithm to ensure that there’s enough radio frequency space for all wireless devices such as cellphones and iPads. The process will enable devices to share bandwidth, which will help prevent overloading radio space during emergencies. They say the new technology should be available for wireless providers in the near future.
