(SNAKE RIVER, ID)  —  Jefferson County Deputies responded to two rafting incidents Sundaymorning within 25 minute of each other.

Three Bonneville County residents found themselves in the South Fork of the Snake River Sunday morning after the raft they were in got caught in a downed tree.  22-year-old Shawnie Nicole Henager, 33-year-old Tyler L Robertson and 28-year-old John B Henager were fishing when the incident occurred. All three occupants were able to make it to a sand bar and re-enter the raft to continue down the river, to Heise Bridge where deputies made contact with them.   Other than cuts and abrasions, no one in the boat was seriously injured.   Life vests were in the boat but not on the occupants at the time of the incident.

The second incident called in by 38-year-old Michelle Lee Robinson. She and her husband 46-year-old Jeffery Ernest Robinson were on the river when the raft they were in got caught in branches of a low hanging tree and started taking on water.  The couple tried to bail out the raft but could not keep up with it and climbed out to safety on the shore.   No injuries occurred.

Jefferson County deputies assisted in retrieving the raft for the couple.
