(LOS ANGELES) — Lindsay Lohan was hospitalized after her Porsche collided with an 18-wheeler, according to ABC News affiliate KABC.
Santa Monica police Sgt. Richard Lewis told KABC that Lohan rear-ended a dump truck while driving on the Pacific Coast Highway this afternoon. She and her male assistant, who was in the passenger seat, were taken by ambulance to a local hospital. She complained of pain and her assistant had a “minor injury,” according to cops. The driver of the truck was not injured. Police are conducting an investigation.
In a statement to ABC News, a rep for Lohan said, “Lindsay was involved in an automobile accident today on her way to the set. She was brought to Santa Monica UCLA hospital as a precaution. She is fine and was released less than two hours later and is already headed back to the set to resume work. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the accident.”
A picture posted on TMZ shows the black Porsche elevated on a flatbed, with significant damage to the windshield and front of the car.
