Mistrial in Case of Oakley Teacher

(BURLEY) – A Cassia County judge has declared a mistrial in the case against a former Oakley teacher accused of having sexual contact with a 14-year-old student. The lewd conduct and sexual abuse charges against Alvin Andrew stem from allegations dating back to May 2007. 5th District Judge Michael Crabtree determined that the jury commissioner made inappropriate comments to jurors, alluding the the notion that she may have had inside knowledge about the case.
