(SAN DIEGO) — Roy Oswalt is scheduled to make his first start for the Texas Rangers Friday when they take on the Colorado Rockies at Rangers’ Ballpark in Arlington, Texas.
The 34-year-old Oswalt hasn’t pitched in a Major League game since starting Game 4 of the 2011 NLDS for the Phillies against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Oswalt has made four minor league starts to get his arm strength back. His final start was Sunday for Triple-A-Round Rock. Oswalt allowed two runs, six hits and struck out five in a 4-2 victory.
Scott Feldman will move to the bullpen to make room for Oswalt in the rotation.
