(IDAHO FALLS) – A man accused of leading Idaho Falls Police on a high-speed chase that ended in a shootout last October is headed to prison. 31-year-old Scott Parker was sentenced to 22 years on aggravated assault charges, as well as eluding police. Parker told the court that the incident was a failed attempt at “suicide by cop.” Parker’s attorney cited a long history of mental illness in his defense, which the court ultimately rejected. Parker will be eligible for parole in 2025.
