Report: Lasorda Hospitalized Following Heart Attack
Published at(NEW YORK) — Former Los Angeles Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda suffered a heart attack in New York Monday and is hospitalized according to the team.
The 84-year-old Lasorda was in Manhattan representing the Dodgers at the MLB draft when he fell ill. He was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital where he is resting comfortably. The Dodgers say he could be release as early as Wednesday.
During his 20-year career as skipper of the Dodgers (1976-1996), Lasorda compiled a 1,599-1,439 record, leading them to two World Series Championships. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1997.
