(LOS ANGELES) — NBC appears to be one step closer to replacing Ann Curry on the Today show.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Savannah Guthrie has formally been offered Curry’s current position as co-anchor of Today alongside Matt Lauer. Guthrie co-anchors the third hour of Today.
The Hollywood Reporter also notes that NBC executives are close to giving Curry a “substantial” role within their news organization. The trade paper denies a TMZ.com report that Curry is trying to negotiate a departure from the network.
