The Seawolves become the second four seed since the field expanded to 64 teams to advance this far. The last team to do it was Fresno State in 2008. It when on to win the championship that year.

“When we got to the tournament we talked about how your a talented group, you do a lot of things well,” Seawolves coach Matt Senk said while explaining what he said to his team before the tournament. ” If you remain confident and remain loose, you’ll be very dangerous…and that is exactly what we were over these last two weekends.”

Stony Brook will restart their quest for the title Friday in Omaha when it takes on UCLA.
