Larry Hagman returns as the scheming oil tycoon J.R. Ewing.  He’s joined by his former co-stars Patrick Duffy, who plays his brother, Bobby Ewing, and Linda Gray, who plays J.R.’s wife, Sue Ellen Ewing. The new Dallas series also introduces TV viewers to a new generation of Ewings.

Gray says she had some reservations about the project when she was approached about reprising her role.

She says she wondered, “What was it going to be?  Sleazy?  Tacky?  What were they going to do?  And just drag us in to be these characters that people remember to start off the show and then sort of whittle us away?”

Duffy recalls that he thought the script for the pilot was “brilliant,” though he adds that he, Gray and Hagman had “this unspoken agreement that none of us would have done the show if the other two had turned it down.”

Dallas also stars Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster and Brenda Strong.
