Tomas Vokoun Traded to Penguins
Published at(ARLINGTON, Va.) — Tomas Vokoun didn’t last long in Washington. After spending one season as a Washington Captial, Vokoun has been traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins. In exchange the Capitals received a seventh-round draft pick.
The Penguins said they have given Vokoun a two-year contract worth an average of $2 million a season.
Last season, through 48 games with the Capitals, the 35-year-old Vokoun posted 25-17-2 record, with a 2.51 goal against average and a .917 save percentage. He missed the end of the season with an injured groin.
