Tribes Need to Separate Business From Politics
Published at(FORT HALL) – A recent report by an Idaho State University professor shows that there’s a lot more the Shoshone-Bannock tribes can do to improve economic development. Neil Tocher says that reservations are often fertile ground for business development, but that can be hindered with too much oversight from tribal government. Tocher recommends that the tribe create a semi-autonomous business development company, which isn’t subject to a tribal council.
