Wizards to Retain Head Coach Randy Wittman

NBA via Washington Wizards(NEW YORK) — The Washington Wizards is set to retain Randy Wittman as the team’s head coach. Following a 2-15 start, the team decided to part way with Flip Saunders and bring Wittman on board as the interim head coach.
The Wizards franchise has seen better days. Despite haivng some promising young players, the team went 20-46 this past season, and at one point fired coach Saunders. Wittman replaced Saunders mid-season and the team has decided to see what he can do with a full year at the helm.
Despite the team’s poor record, they ended the season on a high note, winning their last six games in a row and eight of their final 10. Along with improved play down the stretch, the team has a talented core of players like John Wall, Jan Vesely, and also have the third pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.
The Wizards haven’t made the playoffs since the 2007-2008 season.
