(NEW YORK) — New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner suffered another setback Saturday in his recovery from a strained right elbow.
The 28-year-old Gardner woke up Saturday with pain in his elbow, a day after he played five-innings in a rehab game with Class-A Charleston. He will be re-examined by doctors this week.
“I’m not sure when we will see him again,” Yankees manager Joe Girardi said.
Gardner has been on the shelf since April 19, when he hurt his elbow while making a diving attempt for a ball in the outfield.
