The first overall selection in the 2012 NFL Draft out of Stanford University and the heir to Peyton Manning’s throne in Indianapolis reported to camp on Saturday for the first time in his young career.

“Obviously, a little nervous,” Luck said when asked about his feelings. “I think it’s good to be a little nervous about things. I’m excited to get going, anxious.”

Luck hopes to live up to the hype surrounding the Colts as they officially begin the post-Manning era.  His spring workload was hindered due to Luck finishing up his classes at Stanford.  He attended the Colts’ three-day rookie minicamp in May but was mostly on his own when it came to learning the playbook.

Luck spent some time in Miami training with wide receiver Reggie Wayne, who took less money to return to the Colts regardless of the teams’ decision to not bring back Manning.

The Colts hope to turn the page with Luck after a tumultuous 2-14 2011 season.
