Arencibia Out Six Weeks with Broken Hand
Published at(TORONTO) — Toronto Blue Jays Catcher J.P. Arencibia is expected to miss six weeks, after fracturing his right hand in the Jays loss to the Oakland Athletics Wednesday night.
The injury occurred in the top of the eighth inning when he took a foul tip off the hand. Arencibia stayed behind the plate for the rest of the inning, but was pinch hit for in the bottom of the eighth.
Arencibia is now the 10th Blue Jay currently on the disabled list.
He is hitting .242, with 16 home runs and 50 RBIs.
