(ATLANTA) — The Atlanta Braves will honor retiring third baseman Chipper Jones before the start of their final regular season home series Sept. 28 against the New York Mets at Turner Field.
“We are most fortunate and especially honored to have had him in a Braves uniform for his remarkable 20-year-career, and we will show him how much he has meant to us,” Braves president John Schuerholz said.
The Braves selected Jones with the overall number one pick in the 1990 MLB amateur draft.
