(NEW YORK) — Milwaukee Brewers general manager Doug Melvin told USA Today and Milwaukee’s WTMJ radio Thursday that he is listening to trade inquires for pitching ace Zach Greinke.
The 2009 AL Cy-Young Award winner, Greinke is in his second season with the Brewers.
This season, he has a 9-3 record with a 3.44 ERA, 122 strikeouts and a 1.20 WHIP.
Greinke is scheduled to make his next start Sunday, two days before the July 31 trade deadline.
It is believed the Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Angels, Chicago White Sox and Atlanta Braves are pushing the hardest to acquire him.
