(WASHINGTON) — Washington Nationals rookie outfielder Bryce Harper has been chosen to replace Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton for the National League in Tuesday’s All-Star game.
The 19-year-old Harper is the youngest position player in history to suit up for Baseball’s Midsummer Classic.
“It’s exciting to go,” Harper said. “I’m excited to get there and be around all the top guys in the country, of course, and all the top guys in baseball.”
Stanton was forced to pull out due to a right knee injury.
