City of Ashton to Conserve Well Water

(ASHTON) – The city of Ashton is asking residents to conserve their well water this week. On Thursday, the city will be installing a new treatment system and will be using a secondary well until the process is complete. In the meantime, residents are encouraged to shut off their lawn sprinklers and limit their water use for domestic and culinary purposes only. Officials say the new system should solve long standing nitrate contamination problems that have plagued the city in recent years.
