Clippers Sign Blake Griffin to Five-Year Extension

NBA via Los Angeles Clippers(LOS ANGELES) — The Los Angeles Clippers have rewarded forward Blake Griffin with a five-year contract extension worth $95 million, according to ESPN.
The Clippers selected Griffin with the number one overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft and hoped he could resurrect their struggling franchise. Griffin did just that, but a knee injury kept him out his entire rookie year. Once he stepped foot on the court there was little denying Griffin’s talent.
“I feel good about [the Clippers],” Griffin told ESPNLosAngeles.com last week. “Like I’ve said, everything’s been positive. Everything’s been moving forward. It’s been a good experience. I’m not a believer in breaking up something that’s working.”
This past season, Griffin averaged 20.7 points and 10.9 rebounds per game.
