Beach Volleyball - Women’s Group C: Misty May-Treanor and Kerry Walsh Jennings of the United States outlasted Marketa Slukova and Kristyna Kolocova of the Czech Republic, 21-14, 21-19.

Boxing- 178 pounds – Round of 32: Marcus Browne of the United States fell to Damien Hooper of Australia, 13-11.

Diving – Men’s Synchronized 10m Platform Finals - Gold: China (486.78). Silver: Mexico Bronze: David Boudia and Nicholas McCrory of the United States.

Gymnastics Men’s Team Final - Gold: China (275.997). Silver: Japan. Bronze: Great Britain Fifth: The United States.
