(NEW YORK) — Matt Carle is leaving Philadelphia for Tampa Bay. The 27-year-old defenseman signed a six-year, $33 million dollar contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning Wednesday night.
Carle has spent most of his past four NHL seasons with the Flyers. Over the past four seasons he’s proven to be durable playing in at least 76 games every season.
During the 2011-2012 season, Carle ranked eighth among defenseman in points with 38.
This will be Carle’s second time playing with the Lightning. He played twelve games with the team in 2008 before being traded to the Flyers.
