Fontenelle Fire Exceeds 56,000 Acres
Published at(BIG PINEY, Wyo.) – Hundreds of firefighters from as far away as Alaska are battling the Fontenelle Fire in western Wyoming. The blaze has now exceeded 56,000 acres and is only 15 percent contained. A NASA satellite image of the fire shows a plume of smoke extending over 150 miles to the northeast. Fires in Utah, Colorado and Wyoming have prompted health officials to issue air quality advisories for much of the region.
