ATL Williams Marvin? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1341327629482Atlanta Hawks via NBA(NEW YORK) — The Atlanta Hawks keep making moves to help improve their club for the future. The team has agreed to trade small forward Marvin Williams to the Utah Jazz in exchange for point guard Devin Harris.

After already agreeing to trade guard Joe Johnson to the Brooklyn Nets earlier in the week, new Hawks general manager Danny Ferry is off to a blazing start in his first offseason with the Hawks.

The 26-year-old Williams never lived up to the expectations put on him when the Hawks drafted him second overall in the 2005 draft. In his seventh season with the Hawks, Williams averaged 10.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. His best season came four seasons ago when he averaged 14.8 points per game.

Meanwhile, the Hawks will acquire the 29-year-old Harris who also never quite lived up to expectations after being drafted fifth overall by the Washington Wizards back in 2004. Harris recently wrapped up his eighth season in the NBA, and second with the Jazz. He averaged 11.3 points and 5.0 assists per game last season.

With the moves the Hawks have made this week, they shipped out more than $105 million in total committed salary and in return have taken on just $23.5 million in salary.
