IEA Backs Simpson Over LeFavour

(BOISE) – A decision by the Idaho Education Association to back seven-term Republican Congressman Mike Simpson is raising some eyebrows. The endorsement favoring Simpson over Democratic challenger Nicole LeFavour was “completely member driven,” according to union officials. LeFavour says she’s disappointed with the move, citing Simpson’s support for Idaho’s “Students Come First” education reforms, which the IEA is trying to repeal this November.
