His new teammate, Kobe Bryant is happy to finally have Nash on his side, rather than competing against him in Phoenix.

“We all know what a phenomenal player he is and how intelligent he is, and what he brings to the table with his play-making abilities,” Bryant told ESPN on Friday.  “I’m excited.”

The five-time NBA champion Bryant understands what the presence of the two-time MVP on the court will do for the team instantly.

“He’s going to space the floor, he’s such a phenomenal shooter, his ability to make plays for others is second to none,” said Bryant.  “We’ll be able to get up and down the floor and hopefully get a lot more easier baskets than we have in the past.”

As for Magic center Dwight Howard who is unhappy in Orlando, Bryant was asked his thoughts on possibly trading for the all-star.

“I want what’s best for him,” Bryant said. “I want him to do what he feels is best for him and what’s going to make him happy and hopefully bring him a great amount of success individually and as well as winning championships.”
