Lopez Returning to the Nets
Published at(NEW YORK) — The Brooklyn Nets re-signed center Brook Lopez to a four-year, $60 million max deal, a league source told ESPNNewYork.com’s Mike Mazzeo.
The deal ends speculation that the Nets could trade Lopez in a deal for Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard. Rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement say Lopez can’t be traded until January 15.
Lopez only played in five games last season due to foot and ankle injuries.
The 24-year-old has averaged 17.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.6 blocks over his four NBA seasons.
