Man Survives Bear Attack in Teton Basin

(ALTA, Wyo.) – The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has confirmed that a young man was attacked by a bear near Alta Saturday.Officials say the victim, who survived the attack, was hiking on the Aspen Trail along the western slope of the Tetons. Investigators say the man  spooked the black bear bear in a densely wooded area with low visibility. The man was able to climb a tree, though the bear charged and pulled him down by the foot before running off. The victim’s name and condition have not been released.
