ORL HOWARD DWIGHT? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1342041224714NBA via Orlando Magic(NEW YORK) — The Dwight Howard trade talk has taken another turn. ESPN is reporting that the Brooklyn Nets, who were attempting to acquire Howard, have ended talks with the Orlando Magic.

ESPN was reporting earlier today that the Nets had a self-imposed deadline of 6 p.m. ET. to resolve any trade. Part of the deal the Nets offered Orlando included four first-round picks and power forward Kris Humphries in sign-and-trade deals. The Magic reportedly turned down the Nets deal.

“We’ve moved on. It just got to the point where we couldn’t keep going back and forth with Orlando. They had about 14 days to do something and didn’t. We just had to move on, and we felt that way this morning,” a Nets source told ESPNNewYork.com’s Ian O’Connor.

Howard had said he wanted to be traded to the Brooklyn Nets. With the Nets taking themselves out of the running for the former Defensive Player of the Year, this could open the door for the Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets to make a move.

The two teams were said to be engaged in trade talks with Orlando in a deal that would send Andrew Bynum to Houston while the Lakers would land Howard.
