NY Fields Landry? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1341415708510NBA via New York Knicks(NEW YORK) — The New York Knicks roster may be undergoing another transformation depending how free agency turns out. ESPN is reporting that the Toronto Raptors have verbally agreed to a deal with forward Landry Fields.

Fields will reportedly sign a three-year offer sheet worth $20 million. Fields will be unable to officially sign tll July 11, the first day that free agents can sign deals with teams. The deal is said to be similar to the contract sheet that Bulls center Omer Asik signed with the Houston Rockets. He’d make about $5 million the first two years, while the third year will see a spike in salary.

Because Fields is a restricted free agent, the Knicks have the right to match any offer another team makes him, but the team is unlikely to do so.

The 24-year old Fields just finished his second season in the NBA. He surprised many with his high quality play after being drafted in the second round in the 2010 draft. He has started 148 out of 143 career games during his time with the Knicks. This past season he averaged 8.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.
