Syria Supplied with Chemical Weapons from Iran
Published at(WASHINGTON) — Iran used front organizations to help buy chemical weapons to expand Syria’s arsenal reported in documents and interviews, according to the Washington Post.
Also, the European Union gave $14.6 million in equipment and technical assistance meant for chemical plants to the Syrian Ministry of Industry, but documents from 2010 now reveal the money was used instead to start a chemical weapons program reports the Post.
Although the U.S. and EU have tried to prevent Syria from obtaining chemical weapons, Syria has amassed a stockpile of munitions.
